20 Years of Mika Häkkinen's DTM Legacy: Insights from Norbert Haug

After retiring from Formula 1, Mika Häkkinen returned to the DTM with Mercedes-AMG in 2005 - and won his third race! But how did this come about?

Norbert Haug, then Head of Motorsport at Mercedes-Benz, played a key role. The former journalist and long-standing head of motorsport was responsible for all Mercedes-Benz factory motorsport programmes between 1990 and 2013, including Formula 1, DTM and GT racing series. Thanks to his commitment, the DTM made its big comeback in 2000 - and became the stage for Häkkinen's impressive second career.

20 years since Mika Häkkinen won his first DTM race at the traditional Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Norbert Haug speaks with AMG CLASSIC expert Michael Petersen about Häkkinen's the continued legacy, and the heritage of AMG motorsport.
