As Boris Johnson doesn't seem to have learned anything from the first covid wave, we are now seeing the second run out of control. Only tough and prolonged restrictions will work now and that is going to mean businesses closing down. This also means that Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, is having to U-turn on his insistence that the furlough scheme would not be extended beyond October, though he's still offering less support than will be needed.
