It’s time for an almighty BMW showdown!

We’ve got racing driver Sam in the F82 BMW M4, and he’s going up against Mat in a… BMW 435d xDrive?!

Well, of course, this is no ordinary 435d. The team at Darkside Developments have gone to town on it! So let’s take a closer look at the stats.

Starting with the F82, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six that delivers 431hp and 550Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,595kg.

Then we come to the 435d. The 3-litre twin-turbo inline six diesel has had a whole load of work done to it, including a stage 2 turbo, a bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, and bigger air intakes. Oh, and it’s also fitted with a nitrous oxide canister in the boot! The car now delivers 485hp (520hp when the NOS is active) and an eye-watering 1,200Nm of torque!

What’s more, Sam has another car waiting in the wings if the F82 is no match for the 435d!
