This video covers the electrical operation of the Mercedes 722.6 RWD transmission used in many RWD and 4WD vehicles. This transmission is also commonly known as the NAG1 for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles. These transmissions are still offered in 2021 models and arrived on the scene in 1996!! In this video, I cover the electrical and hydraulic operation of the valve body and focus on the shift solenoids and their hydraulic functions as well as the TCM and various sensors. This video is intended to teach a student or a technician the electrical operation of this transmission. Note, this video is assuming that the viewer understands basic transmission principles and terminology. If that knowledge is lacking, please find the introductory videos in the automatic transmission playlist and watch them first.
