If your Mercedes infotainment system is freezing, glitching, or not responding properly, a hard reset may help, but it should only be done after trying a soft reset first.
In this video, I’ll show you how to perform a hard reset (factory reset) on Mercedes models that use this style of screen and rotary controller.

✅ Applicable Mercedes Models
This method is relevant for many Mercedes models from around 2020–2025, including:
A-Class
B-Class
CLA
GLA
GLB
EQA
EQB
GLE
GLS
It may also work on other Mercedes models with the same infotainment screen and control layout.

⚠️ Important Warning
This is a hard reset, which restores the infotainment system back to factory settings.
You will need to set everything up again, including:
* Navigation and radio presets
* Reconnecting your phone
* Logging back into your Mercedes Me account
* Personal vehicle and comfort settings
This is especially useful if you’ve bought the car used and want to remove the previous owner’s settings.

???? Try a Soft Reset First
Before doing a hard reset, I recommend trying a soft reset, as it can often fix screen or feature issues without deleting your settings.
This reset may also help fix other electrical issues in the car, such as buttons not responding, screen glitches, or other features behaving unexpectedly. It’s worth trying before booking the car in or doing anything more advanced.
