Starting at an estimated $150,000

The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe borrows most of its brains and brawn from the SL roadster. The new GT Coupe is longer, wider and has a longer wheelbase than before, but the big news is the standard all-wheel drive system; Something the AMG GT has never offered before. Buyers will be able to get whatever engine they want in their GT, as long as it's a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. The difference between the GT55, which produces 469 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, and the GT63, which produces 577 ponies and 590 lb-ft of torque, will be heard and felt. The new GT Coupe won't go on sale until late 2024.

The redesigned 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe features a familiar twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine, but with new trim levels and standard all-wheel drive. It's longer, has a larger interior, offers more cargo space, and its current on-sale date is mid-2024.

The difference between GT55 and GT63 will probably be a very high price of $40,000. If that seems like a significant hole in the cash, consider the significant increase in the Yeeha to the tune of 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. There is an optional package that adds carbon ceramic brakes that are larger than the standard wheels on the full-size Sprinter delivery van. Official pricing has not been announced yet.

Six-figure coupes that preceded it, such as the 523-hp GT, the 550-hp GT C and the 577-hp GT R and GT R Pro models, delivered their power as smooth as polished marble. We expect nothing less from the new GT Coupe, which comes with two starting speed levels. Both the GT53 and GT63 use Mercedes' legendary twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine and a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe GT53 produces 469 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, while the GT63 produces 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes has moved the engine position slightly forward, so it now sits above the front axle line rather than at the rear of the GT. The result is more interior space, but this will likely sacrifice some front-to-rear weight distribution.

The new GT's cabin is larger than the old Coupe's and it's easier to see out. GT offers a panoramic glass roof option that covers an extremely high-tech and luxurious interior. This high-cost, high-powered grand tourer is expected to feature massaging sports seats; additional space behind the front row makes room for extra interior cargo room. There are rear seats, but headroom and lack of space in the back make them decorative. The power tailgate is hands-free, and the cargo area it opens can accommodate two golf bags.

An 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard on all AMG GT Coupe models, as is wireless phone smartphone charging. Apple CarPlay and Android auto are standard, as is the Burmester audio system.
