I was unfortunately unable to film while I was changing my Mercedes W210's hood release cable but I had quite a few people ask me on Instagram about the process so I thought I would make a video going over it. Eventually every W210 will need this replaced as the sheathing for the cable expands over time and causes the cable to prevent the passenger side hood latch from closing properly. I show the way that I changed it and mention the way Mercedes WIS instructs on how to do it. Overall it wasn't a horrible thing to change out but definitely not the most fun thing to do. Part is under $100 from pretty much anywhere you look. I recommend you get a genuine one so that you avoid any quality issues that can come with aftermarket cables.
