The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ makes 585 PS. So did the C190 GT R Pro. The difference is that this one weighs 1,970 kg, drives all four wheels, and AMG has not published a Nordschleife time for it.

I took Ravenol's GT 63 around the Nordschleife, and this is an honest review of what happened: the weight, the brakes, the temperatures, and a synthesised engine sound coming through the speakers that I couldn't get past. This is the car that replaced one of the great modern sports cars, and it isn't one.

Some context on why this car behaves as it does: the C192 is built on the SL's architecture rather than the C190's bespoke transaxle platform. The base GT 63 doesn't get the Pro's additional cooling, so oil and coolant temperatures — not tyres — are what limit it on a long lap. On 30-series 21-inch tyres at nearly two tonnes, there's very little sidewall protecting anything.
