2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS-Class
Price: $181.150
Overview
The largest offering from Mercedes' Maybach ultra-luxury sub-brand, the GLS600 takes a big, luxury SUV and makes it thoroughly sybaritic. The first step is pulling the third row. With that hindrance gone, second-row occupants get lavish space in which to stretch out, especially when the four-seat cabin is specified, complete with a pair of reclining rear seats that rival those in the most expensive airplane accommodations.
Aside from more-than-ample power, 550 horses here, everything in the Maybach GLS has been turned up to 11 on the lux-o-meter. Beyond the nearly loaded "base" spec, you can choose fancy paint, leather, and trim options to make this rolling luxury condo your own one-off. It's an SUV that dares you to live your largest life.
Expert Tip: Believe it or not, this GLS has the lowest starting price among current Maybachs. If you absolutely must spend more, check out the double-M versions of the S-class sedan, SL roadster, and EQS SUV.
What's New for 2026?
Mercedes has added a second, less-expensive version of the Night Series package to the GLS600's options list. This one includes unique paint choices, dark exterior trim and badging, rose gold headlight elements, and 23-inch seven-spoke wheels. The new pack is a mere $10,000, whereas the full Night Series treatment runs $25,000 and includes special interior touches, such as Manufaktur herringbone natural grain wood trim inlaid between aluminum strips.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Engine: 550-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8
Transmission: 9-speed automatic
Drivetrain: all-wheel drive
The GLS600's twin-turbocharged V-8 makes 550 horsepower and is assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system that gives a little extra shove off the line. During our test drive, we came away impressed with the 600's silky-smooth ride quality, confident handling, and surprisingly potent acceleration. An air suspension is standard, and it features a Maybach mode that smooths out driver inputs and all but erases bumps in the road.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
First Row: Nappa leather covers the dash, door panels, and seats, while real wood trim or piano black surfaces with a handsome pinstripe add a touch of class. A fragrance diffuser helps occupants create the sensory oasis they deserve after a hard day at the office.
Second Row: While the regular Benz-branded GLS-class SUV is a three-row affair, the Maybach GLS600 offers just two rows, both of which offer heat and massage functions. The rear seats are the place to be, with acres of legroom and two power-adjustable recliner seats—riding in the back is akin to traveling in the fanciest first-class airline cabins. A three-across bench is also offered, but c'mon, the executive treatment is what this SUV is all about.
Cargo Capacity: Maximum cargo capacity isn't as generous here as it is in the regular GLS-class since the rear seats are fixed and don't fold to accommodate larger items. Mercedes-Maybach says there's still about 19 cubic feet of space behind the second row and offers a handsome set of custom-fitted luggage to fill the space in style.
