Quick Timelapse on Conductor Plate Replacements. Simple fix that takes a few hours. Anyone can DIY even if you never changed oil before. The Conductor Plate on Mercedes 722.6 transmission is a motherboard that controls various sensors and solenoids in which communicates with your cars computer to function properly.

These Conductor plates go bad every 15-20 years due to age and heat. With a simple replacement and maintenance your transmission will last another decade or two.

Symptoms of failing Conductor plates are as following:

limp mode
not shifting
falling out of gear
stuck in gear
code for speed sensor (not wheel speed sensor)
no drive or reverse when in gear
harsh shifts

Mostly any weird phenomenons are resulted from the Conductor plate. Harsh shifts can lean towards a valve body spring rebuild which is very cheap and/or just too low/high ATF. (Automatic Transmission Fluid.)

Wheel Speed Sensors sound similar but are completely different. These sensors are located in the wheel well and can also keep you stuck in gear, usually 2nd or 3rd gear.

For AWD models you have a Transfer Case Control Module and if these fail then you will also be thrown into limp mode and won't shift out of 1st or 2nd gear.

For these reasons a proper diagnosis is always recommended.
