The Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class is really a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz since 2006. It is usually a three-row, seven-passenger vehicle positioned across the GLE-Class from the lineup and is particularly the flagship from the Mercedes-Benz SUV line. The GLS shares the identical unibody architecture while using GLE-Class. The vast majority of GLS-Class vehicles are assembled at Mercedes-Benz US International, Inc, in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama aside from a small number of early production 2007 model vehicles that were manufactured in Germany. The first generation (X164) was manufactured between 2006 and 2012 and was replaced in 2012 with the new generation GL-Class (X166).
