In this video, I show the full process of diagnosing and fixing a Mercedes-Benz A-Class W176 ESL/ELV (Steering Lock) fault.
Symptoms:

No dashboard lights

No ignition power

No crank / car won’t start


The solution was to fit and program a Steering Lock Emulator using CGMB (Mercedes key & module programming tool). This method restores ignition and starting function without replacing the full steering lock unit, saving time and money.
