In this video I showcase how to repair the air conditioning of a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300 4matic. I demonstrate how to replace the electro magnet for the AC clutch. This repair will be applicable for virtually all Mercedes-Benz models equipped with a Denso compressor. The symptoms my vehicle exhibited were blinking AC light, warm air, and fault code P064515. It is most important to test the circuit and magnet to verify the failed component before performing repairs.
Fault code P064515: The output of the magnetic clutch of the air conditioning has a malfunction. There is a short circuit to positive or an open circuit.
Possible related/OEM codes: BI1640, 91E815, 9006, P0645
What I find particularly interesting about this is that we are unable to source a magnet for a Mercedes but we are able to cross reference the compressor made my Denso and retrofit a Toyota magnet to our Mercedes compressor. I think that’s neat.
