The GLS gets bolder and more AMG in this new avatar. But does that extra flair justify the price tag? We find out in this video.
Exterior
From the aggressive front bumper with larger intakes to the gloss-black wheel arches and side sills, everything screams attention. Standard with the Night Package, nearly every chrome bit is now blacked out, including roof rails, window lines, and grille slats. Add in those massive 21-inch AMG alloy wheels, and the GLS isn’t just a presence, it’s a statement.
Interior
A flat-bottom AMG steering wheel, metal-finish pedals, and AMG-branded floor mats instantly elevate the space. The second row gets 11.6-inch screens, a 7-inch control tablet, and all the creature comforts you’d expect, ventilated seats, a vast room, and premium materials.
Performance
Powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine, the GLS 450d AMG Line produces 20 bhp more than the standard version. Aided by a 9-speed automatic gearbox and a 48V mild-hybrid system, it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. The gearbox features Eco, Comfort, and Off-Road modes.
Ride & Handling
Thanks to AIRMATIC suspension, the GLS soaks up bumps effortlessly. Raise the ride height and there’s some roll, but drive it low and it feels surprisingly agile.
Verdict
₹1.40–1.43 crore gets you more than just an upgraded GLS. The AMG Line is power-dressed, performance-ready, and impossible to ignore.
