A short drive on my ML270 CDI using an LPC4 transmission control firmware to control the 722.6 transmission. The shifts are very smooth, with closed loop torque management so the shifts are heard more than they are felt. And no flare on the 3-4 shift although I could probably get away with a little more torque there. At the end I demonstrate manual downshifts that you hear but don't feel, the torque management takes care of rev matching so there's no engine braking during the downshift.
This firmware also has slip control for the torque converter clutch which makes application of the torque converter lock up smoother and reduces driveline vibration with the torque converter locked.
