The problems of automatic gear shifters or livers are more in Mercedes Benz C class W203 and W204 vehicles. When they are faulty, they cause the car not to start, if it starts it changes the letters on the dashboard like it is in a certain gear while the gear liver is in parking and when you try to put to drive, it would get stuck in gear two and you can not drive more than 20km per hour. Other sign is when on the dashboard show nothing on letter D ( Drive) and that also causes the car not to start. If it all the letters PRNDs shows then you can start the car and go, but along the way it will set itself into limp mode because the issue is not fixed, once you stop and switch of your car; after a while when you want to start it again, the car would not start. Limp mode was set in these cars to protect your engine from further damage to the systems of your car. There are many things that causes limp mode apart from the gear shifter module.
