Rear transmission mounts do wear out and collapse. Inspection and replacement are an easy D.I.Y. job if you have to equipment to safely jack up and support the car high enough to allow working under the rear of the transmission. You will need a good floor jack to raise the transmission just enough to pull the old mount out and put the new one in. Kent shows some good tricks to get all the bolts lined up properly - that can be challenging.In this multi-part video series, Kent covers some of the most common service and maintenance you can do on these cars yourself. Once again, if you are going to own one and you want a happy and long lasting "marriage" you had better learn how to do some of the maintenance yourself.
