This video walks through the complete process to replace the transmission output shaft seal on my 1997 Mercedes SL 500. This car has the M119 V8 with 722.6 5 speed auto transmission.

The Mercedes parts needed for this repair are the following:
015-997-12-46 Automatic Transmission Extension Housing Seal
140-990-11-50 Bihexagonal Nut W Flange

Additionally, you may find the drive shaft flex joints (2) require replacement due to the rubber cracking with age
222-411-01-15 Drive Shaft Flex Joint

I purchased these tools to help me with this job
Harbor freight seal puller 63039
1/2 inch impact gun (highly recommended for removing and installing output flange nut)
30mm 12 point socket (required for removing the output flange nut)
