P0798 | p0798 pressure control solenoid c electrical | code p0798 | p0798 obd2
Hello friends welcome to the ig garage channel today I am telling you how to fix p0798 pressure control solenoid c electrical so watch this video and learn how to fix it friends if you like this video then subscribe to the ig garage channel for more videos.
In this video, we’ll explain OBD-II Trouble Code P0798, which stands for “Pressure Control Solenoid ‘C’ Electrical.”
This code means the Transmission Control Module (TCM) has detected an electrical fault in the circuit that controls Pressure Control Solenoid “C.”
The solenoid is responsible for regulating hydraulic pressure inside the transmission to ensure smooth gear shifting.
When the circuit is open, shorted, or has incorrect voltage, the TCM cannot control the solenoid properly, leading to shifting issues and transmission performance problems.

???? Common Symptoms of P0798:
Check Engine Light (CEL) or Transmission Warning Light ON
Hard or delayed shifting between gears
Transmission slipping or jerking
Vehicle stuck in one gear (limp mode)
Poor fuel economy
Unusual transmission noises or overheating
⚙️ Possible Causes of P0798:
Faulty Pressure Control Solenoid “C” (open or short circuit)
Damaged or corroded solenoid connector or wiring
Low or dirty transmission fluid
Blocked or restricted hydraulic passages
Faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM)
Internal transmission failure
Poor ground connection or short to voltage
???? How to Fix P0798:
Check transmission fluid level and condition – if burnt or dirty, replace it.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the solenoid and TCM for corrosion, damage, or loose pins.
Test the solenoid “C” resistance using a multimeter – compare readings to the manufacturer’s specs.
Use a scan tool to command the solenoid ON/OFF and monitor its response.
Repair or replace damaged wiring or connectors.
Replace the Pressure Control Solenoid “C” if it fails electrical tests.
Perform a TCM reset or reprogramming after replacement.
Clear the code and perform a test drive to confirm the issue is resolved.
???? Pressure Control Solenoid “C” Location:
The Pressure Control Solenoid “C” is typically located inside the transmission valve body, right below the transmission fluid pan.
To access it:
Drain the transmission fluid, remove the pan and filter.
Locate the valve body assembly – the solenoids are mounted on it.
Solenoid “C” is usually labeled or color-coded according to vehicle design.
Refer to the service manual for your specific make and model.
???? Estimated Repair Cost:
Solenoid “C” Replacement: $150 – $300
Fluid & Filter Replacement: $80 – $150
Wiring or Connector Repair: $50 – $150
Valve Body Service: $250 – $600
TCM Programming or Replacement: $200 – $500
