I know that some like points, but they do not produce the same hot spark, nor do they compensate for worn shafts (dwell fluctuations). I will show you what I had to come up with to make this happen in a 1970 to 1973 Mercedes V8, M116 or M117, with points-and-condenser ignition from the factory.
