China is WINNING the luxury car game!

Thanks to everyone who lent us their cars for this video:
- Zeekr 8X: https://www.instagram.com/kainiansgarage/
- Rolls-Royce Cullinan: https://www.instagram.com/seanysgarage

It’s time for a China vs Britain luxury showdown!

Mat’s got his hands on the range-topping Zeekr 8X, and he’s going to compare it to a 5-year-old, second-hand Rolls-Royce Cullinan to see if massive tech can truly unseat the king of luxury SUVs.

If you’re looking solely for performance, it’s easy to see why you may choose the Zeekr. It may only be equipped with a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, but this is used to power three electric motors which combine to produce a staggering 1,400hp and 1,410Nm of torque!

In comparison, the Cullinan may have a huge 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, but this can ‘only’ produce 571hp and 850Nm. However, the Rolls-Royce is the lighter of the two at 2,660kg, whereas the Zeekr’s heavy battery tech pushes it up to 2,820 kg!

But chances are, if you’re in the market for one of these two cars, luxury tech and quality features are likely to be top of your agenda, and both of these cars are stacked full of them. Both cars come with soft-close automatic doors, massage seats in the front (although the Zeekr has them in the rear as well), and large infotainment screens in the front. However, while the interiors of both cars are styled relatively well, the Rolls easily wins it thanks to the quality of the materials throughout the cabin. Almost any element you touch feels expensive - but what else would you expect from a Rolls-Royce!

However, there’s one area where the Zeekrs wins hands down - the price. The Rolls-Royce we have here, despite being 5 years old and second-hand, still costs £250,000. As for the Zeekr? As new, it only costs £54,300!

So will Mat prefer the Zeekr to the Rolls-Royce? You’ll need to keep watching to see for yourself!

V8 v I6 v V6 v I4: OFF-ROAD BATTLE

It’s time for another off-road showdown!

The four cars set to go head-to-head over this off-road course are a Jeep Wrangler, an Ineos Grenadier, a Land Cruiser 200 Series, and… a Volkswagen Touareg?!

The Touareg may seem out of place in this list, but trust us, it might be one of the most capable cars here! Let’s take a closer look at the stats…

The Jeep Wrangler rolls up with a 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol that’s been tuned to deliver 304hp and 400Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels, and it weighs in at 2,580kg. It is also equipped with a load of features to help it off-road, including front & rear locking diffs and a low-range mode.

Up next, we have the tuned Grenadier. It rolls up with a 3-litre straight-six diesel that puts down 249hp and 550Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels, and it weighs in at 2,740kg. It comes with low-range mode, standard locking centre diffs and optional locking front and rear diffs.

Following that, we have the Land Cruiser. It’s powered by a 4.5-litre twin-turbo diesel V8 that puts down 286hp and 650Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed auto, and it weighs 2,555kg. In terms of off-road capabilities, it has a low-range mode and a Torsen limited-slip centre differential, as well as an adjustable ride height.

Finally, we come to the Touareg, which is powered by a 3-litre turbocharged V6 diesel to deliver 357hp and 767Nm. It has a 6-speed auto gearbox to send this power to all four wheels, and it weighs in at 2,700kg! But it comes packed with off-road tech that has led to the large weight increase!

It’s a BMW estate head-to-head!

We’ve got our hands on the BMW M3 CS Touring, and it’s going up against Mat’s long-term BMW M5 Touring test car!

The question is, how different are these two long-bodied BMWs? Let’s check out the stats…

The BMW M5 Touring houses a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, coupled with an electric motor. The two combine to produce 727hp and 1,000Nm, and this power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All in it costs from £116,160, and it’s incredibly heavy, tipping the scales at 2,475kg!

Then we come to the M3 CS Touring. Under the bonnet, it ‘only’ has a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, and this creates 550hp and 650Nm. Power is once again sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it costs almost the same as the M5, costing £120,600. However, it’s a whole lot lighter than the M5, weighing in at 1,850kg.

So the M5 has more power, and an electric motor - but it weighs almost 650kg more than the M3! Can you pick a winner? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!

I bought a cheap ‘550hp’ Bentley, it was a DISASTER!

Did Mat make a huge mistake buying a Bentley Continental GT for just £10,200?

In this video, we’re putting our bargain-basement Bentley head-to-head with a pristine, well-maintained version of the exact same car, but this one is worth £30,000! Is the "mint" example really worth three times the price, and if so, is it worth Mat pouring in the cash to get our car to the same level?

Well, here’s the thing: we already know from a previous video that there are a whole load of issues with our car. We need to replace the front suspension, replace the handbrake motors, change warped brakes, and it also needs a major service and a new MOT. All in, the fix everything, it would cost over £25,000 to fix them all!

What’s more, the 6-litre W12 should be producing 550hp, but in this instance ours is only putting down 320hp, so to get it back to producing what it should would cost an additional £8,000!

So we now have a massive decision to make. Do we cut our losses or double down? Here is how we tackle this dilemma:

For starters, we see how much the car is worth if we simply strip it and sell it in pieces. We then get the car professionally valeted to see if "looking the part" is enough to fool a specialist when compared to the £30k version, and then finally we attempt to fix only the bare essentials required to get it road-legal.

Can you actually save £20,000 by buying a "fixer-upper" Bentley, or did we just buy a very heavy, very expensive paperweight? Stick with Mat to find out!

It’s time for a global SUV showdown!

We’ve got our hands on the British Land Rover Defender OCTA, the German BMW X5M Competition, the Italian Ferrari Purosangue, and the Chinese Zeekr 8X Yaoying!

You may not have heard of the Zeekr, but we think it could easily be a good match for the other cars in this line-up! So let’s check out the stats…

The Ferrari is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 that pumps out 725hp and 716Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto gearbox, and it weighs in at 2,033kg. It’s easily the most expensive car here, with the starting price coming in at £313,000.

Then we have the BMW. There’s a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, and this puts down 625hp and 750Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter, and it tips the scales at 2,400kg. It’s a whole lot cheaper than the Ferrari, costing £137,330.

In Britain’s corner, we have the Defender OCTA. You’ll find the same BMW engine under the bonnet as in the X5M, but here it produces 635hp and 800Nm. It has the same gearbox, it weighs in at 2,510kg, and it costs just under £150,000.

Then, finally, we have the Zeekr. Under the bonnet, it only has a 2-litre turbo 4-cylinder, but it has a secret up its sleeve - 3 electric motors! When they all work in tandem, it puts down a colossal 1,400hp and 1,410Nm! However, it’s easily the heaviest here, at 2,820kg, but it’s incredibly cheap - it only costs around £54,000!!

So will this all-new Chinese EV walk it? There’s only one way to find out for sure - LET’S RACE!

This BMW has a BIG PROBLEM

It’s time for three of the most sought-after electric SUVs to go head-to-head to see which deserves a spot on your driveway.

In one corner, we have the global best-seller - and recently updated - Tesla Model Y. It is being challenged by a fresh, high-tech rival from Ingolstadt, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron, and the latest all-electric offering from Munich, the BMW iX3.

These three represent the cutting edge of premium family transport, but they each take a very different approach to design, performance, and daily usability.

The Tesla Model Y AWD Long Range remains the benchmark that everyone else is trying to beat. Known for its class-leading efficiency and unparalleled charging infrastructure, the Model Y offers a dual-motor setup that provides sure-footed all-wheel-drive traction and a 0-60mph time that puts many sports cars to shame.

Inside, it’s as minimalist as every car in Tesla’s line-up, dominated by a single massive touchscreen that controls almost every function of the car. While some may find the lack of physical buttons polarising, there is no denying the sheer amount of interior space and the clever storage solutions, including a massive "frunk" and a cavernous rear boot.

Moving to the Audi Q6 Sportback RWD Performance, we see a focus on sleek aesthetics and long-distance touring. By opting for the rear-wheel-drive "Performance" variant, Audi has prioritised range, utilising a large battery and a more aerodynamic Sportback silhouette to extract maximum miles from every charge.

Built on the new PPE platform shared with Porsche, the Q6 features an ultra-fast 800V charging architecture, allowing you to add hundreds of miles in the time it takes to grab a coffee. The interior features Audi’s new "Digital Stage" OLED display layout, although we’re not a fan of the huge bezels around the screen! Thankfully, though, there are high-quality materials throughout.

The BMW iX3 50 xDrive represents the latest evolution of BMW's electric SUV lineup, now boasting a dual-motor configuration for significantly more punch than its predecessor. BMW has focused heavily on the driving experience, ensuring that even as a heavy SUV, it retains that signature "Ultimate Driving Machine" DNA with sharp steering and composed handling.

It also features a massive battery capacity that pushes its range toward the 500-mile mark in ideal conditions, and like the Audi, it utilises an 800V system for lightning-fast top-ups. The cabin features the all-new panoramic iVision display, which, while impressive, potentially offers a lot of information that isn’t that useful on a trip to the shops!

This group test isn't just about the numbers on a spec sheet; it’s about how these cars handle the real world. Mat will be putting all three through their paces, testing everything from their real-world efficiency and interior quality to their infotainment systems and rear-seat practicality. By the end of this deep dive, we’ll see if the Tesla can hold onto its crown or if the German giants have finally caught up to - and overtaken - the most popular electric SUV of recent years!

Explore new and used cars with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-2804
